Chef Charity 

My Story

The kitchen has always been my sanctuary—a place of peace, curiosity, and purpose. As I grew, cooking became my love language. Creating food and sharing it with others became my way of connecting, of offering something meaningful from my hands to someone else’s heart.

Over time, I came to understand that food is more than nourishment—it’s healing.

 

A Journey That Changed Everything

My deeper understanding of food as medicine began in 2009, when my daughter was born with complex medical needs. Her journey led me to study, research, and explore ways to support her beyond what traditional approaches could offer.

Everything deepened again when my youngest son was diagnosed with cancer. That experience changed me completely. It led me to look not only at what we consume physically, but also emotionally and spiritually—and how all of it shapes our health and our lives.

Through it all, I came to understand that healing is not something that simply happens to us—it’s something we choose, one small decision at a time.

Life, Motherhood, and Perspective

I am a mother of seven, and I homeschool three of my children, two of whom have complex needs. They have taught me more about presence, patience, and unconditional love than anything else ever could. They’ve shown me that healing isn’t linear—and that love, in its most consistent and quiet form, is often the greatest medicine of all.

Living in Alignment

In 2017, I made the decision to fully align my life with my values and transitioned to a vegan lifestyle rooted in compassion and awareness. What began as a personal choice became a deeper commitment—to live, create, and serve in a way that reflects what I know to be true.

A New Season

My journey in this work began years ago, building a successful home-basevegan bakery from the ground up and creating custom cakes, pastries, and catering for my community. Over time, as life shifted, so did my approach. Today, my work has evolved into something more intentional—focused on catering, custom experiences, and teaching. This shift allows me to move with greater intention—focusing on connection, experience, and impact.

Beyond the Kitchen

In addition to my work as a chef and educator, I serve as the Program Director of Mindful Haven through Chasin A Dream Foundation, where I help create supportive spaces for families navigating complex medical journeys. This work reflects another part of my purpose—holding space for healing, connection, and community.

Where It All Comes Together

Everything I create is rooted in intention, lived experience, and a deep belief that food is a bridge—between body, mind, and spirit. Whether through a meal, a class, or a shared moment, my mission is simple: To help others nourish their bodies, reconnect with themselves, and heal—one step, one choice, and one experience at a time.
